Applicants for the Program must meet the following criteria:
i. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale;
ii. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (“FAFSA”) form;
iii. Have a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by their college or university;
iv. Be in at least one of three (3) categories of student:
v. Be accepted and planning to attend an accredited UNCF member institution, any other accredited HBCU, any accredited four-year institution, or trade/vocational schools.
Students shall submit an online application for the Program, complete with a letter of recommendation from a community member or MCTS faculty member, a one-page personal statement of career interest, and a current transcript. The application shall be available via UNCF’s website at www.uncf.org. All application materials must be received by the applicable deadline.
UNCF shall notify Applicants in the application for the Grant that the Applicants’ name and/or contact information may be shared with the MCTS Reading Committee. UNCF shall obtain the Applicants’ consent prior to sharing name and/or contact information with the Grantor.
Please Note:
This year the MCTSAA scholarships will be administered/awarded by UNCF and not the MCTS Alumni Association.
Ten (10) scholarships in the amount of $2,500 will be awarded and mailed to the institution the recipient will be attending in 2023.
The deadline for applying on the UNCF website is March 16th, 2023.
